New application - Sticky Notes

Monday, June 29, 2009 4:41:20 PM

StickyNotes is a new application that I have added to the PC software section of the website.  The application is a handy Windows Forms application that allows provides a configurable writing canvas to store ad-hoc notes for easy access.

A full description and download link can be found here

New application - Forex Watcher

Saturday, June 27, 2009 10:09:00 AM

Currently putting the finishing touches to my latest Windows Mobile / Pocket PC application, Forex Watcher.  I wanted a way to track current and historical foreign exchange rates from my handheld device, without the need to pay for expensive Forex subscriptions.

The home page for the application is here.  As always, I would welcome any comments or suggestions.

Windows Mobile 6.5 SDK

Sunday, June 07, 2009 10:16:07 AM

Microsoft have released an update for the Windows Mobile 6 SDK that brings the new WiMo 6.5 functionality to the SDK for developers.  Download it here.

Group Image Converter

Monday, June 01, 2009 6:38:35 PM

A new software application on the website, 'GroupImageConverter'.  It is a modern replacement for 'BatchImageConverter' and offers the ablity to not only convert image type but also adjust the image size.  It is a simple tool, takes up very little disk space and only needs .NET 3.5 to run.  It is mainly intended for people that need to resize and/or change type of a large number of images in one pass.

Currently the resizing is based on a user entered target size, rather than a proportional resize based on the original image size.  I might add that later if I get a chance to.

Back to normal...I think!

Thursday, May 14, 2009 1:14:20 PM

Phew!  What a ride.  I think normality has now just about returned to the family after our big move.  The children are at their new school and seem to have settled in quite nicely.  Once all our belongings arrive things should be a lot easier.

BT fun and games

Thursday, April 16, 2009 12:14:03 PM

I'm writing this from the local library computer as the telephone and internet haven't been connected at home yet.  Unfortunately the previous tenant did not put a 'stop' on the line and we are stuck with waiting 11 working days for the line to be switched over to us.

Trying to sort the whole mess out with BT is a true nightmare.  I thought Telstra in Australia was bad...

If you need to contact me in the interim, I will check email infrequently so my UK mobile is the best option.

Nearly there...

Sorry for not writing much since setting up this new site.  Not long after getting everything working my family and I began our move overseas.  Picking up your life and moving to another country is not particularly straightforward and much of my energy has been spent (alongside my wife) organizing our move.

We have moved now and although normality has not yet been reached as things settle down I hope to blog a little more regularly, starting with a number of blog posts covering our move.
